Several Robberies Reported In Arlington Over Holiday Weekend: Police
Several armed robberies and attempted robberies were reported in Arlington over the long Christmas holiday weekend, police said.
ARLINGTON, VA — Several armed robberies and attempted robberies were reported in Arlington over the long Christmas holiday weekend, according to the Arlington County Police Department.
Shortly after 7 p.m. on Christmas Eve, two suspects, described by police as two Black males in their mid-20s, robbed a person inside a parked car in the 3800 block of Columbia Pike.
The two suspects, who were wearing black masks, brandished guns and demanded the driver’s wallet and phone. After stealing the wallet and phone, the suspects fled the scene in a maroon SUV, police said. The victims inside the parked car were not injured.

Several robberies also took place on Friday and Saturday across Arlington.
Shortly after 8 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 22, a man entered a business in the 700 block of N. Glebe Road in the Ballston area, armed with a knife. The suspect tried to leave the store when a security guard confronted him. He displayed the knife and fled the scene on foot, police said.

Officers located the suspect in the area and took him into custody. Police found the knife and the stolen goods from the store.
The suspect, Furman Troy, 53, of no fixed address, was arrested and charged with robbery, according to police. He was held without bond, police said.
Earlier in the day on Friday, a suspect wearing a ski mask was seen trying to steal a bicycle, using a saw to break the lock, police said.
The owner of the bike confronted the suspect, who threatened the victim before the leaving the scene — 4200 block of Fairfax Drive in Ballston — on foot. The suspect is described as a Black male, about 5-feet, 8-inches tall.
Around 6:45 p.m. on Saturday night, a man entered a business in the 700 block of N. Glebe Road in Ballston and tried to steal merchandise from the store, according to police.
The suspect pushed a security guard. The two scuffled before the suspect left the store on foot.
Police found the suspect, Tyrik Dandrade, 25, of no fixed address, and took him into custody, according to police. He was charged with robbery and held in jail without bond, police said.
On Saturday afternoon, a suspect, described as a Black male, about 6-feet, 2-inches tall and wearing a brown jacket, reportedly dined at a business in the 1900 block of Clarendon Blvd in the Courthouse area and tried to leave without paying.
An employee confronted the suspect, who then lifted his shirt, exposing a firearm. The suspect then left the restaurant on foot, police said.
Late Saturday night, five suspects, described by police as Black males in their late teens or early 20s, tried to steal merchandise from a store in the Courthouse area.
Around 11:55 p.m. on Saturday, police were called to the 2300 block of Wilson Boulevard for the report of an armed robbery.
Upon arrival, police learned that two of the five suspects entered the business. The two suspects stole merchandise from the store and fled the scene with the two other suspects.
A store employee confronted the suspects, who then discarded the merchandise, police said.
Three of the suspects got into a light-colored sedan driven by another suspect and left the area. Another suspect fled the scene on foot, according to police.
Suspect one is described as a Black male, about 16 years old, 5-foot, 7-inches tall, wearing a gray jacket, blue jeans and black shoes. Suspect two is described as a Black male, about 18 years old, 5-foot, 10-inches tall, wearing a gray hoodie, black jeans, gray shoes and a black ski mask.
Suspect three is described as a Black male, about 18 years old, 5-foot, 7-inches tall, wearing a black hoodie, dark jeans, gray shoes and a black ski mask. Suspect four is described as a Black male, about 16 years old, 5-foot, 5-inches tall, wearing a black puffy jacket, dark jeans and black shoes. Suspect five is described as a Black male in his early 20s with short black hair, according to police.
