Shoplifter In Arlington Fought Officers, Resisted Arrest: Police

ARLINGTON COUNTY, VA — An 18-year-old man accused of shoplifting and fighting with officers is facing multiple charges, according to the Arlington County Police Department.

Amine Loutfi, 18, has been charged with robbery, trespassing, obstruction of justice and possession of a schedule I/II controlled substance.

Around 6:29 p.m. Monday, police were dispatched to the 1200 block of S. Hayes Street for a report of a shoplifter in custody.

Once on scene, officers said they saw Loutfi and loss prevention officers in a physical struggle.

While officers were taking Loutfi into custody, they said he attempted to kick officers and resist arrest.

Police said while searching Loutfi, they found narcotics.

Police said the investigation determined Loutfi entered the unnamed business, which he had previously been banned from, and took several items before attempting to leave without paying.

He was held without bond.
