Virginia received one of the highest grades in the country for small business friendliness, according to a survey by Thumbtack.
Virginia received an A+, improving on its A grade from 2013. Also scoring high were Utah, Idaho, Texas and Louisiana.
California, Rhode Island and Illinois were the lowest ranked states – each received an F. Connecticut and New Jersey received D grades.
The survey looked at several issues, including:
- Business-friendly licensing regulations
- Ease of filing taxes
- Tax rates
- Government-sponsored training programs
