MALICIOUS WOUNDING, 2021-10040247, 1600 block of Wilson Boulevard. At approximately 11:50 p.m. on October 4, police were dispatched to the report of a possible hit and run. The victim was treated by medics before being transported to an area hospital for serious but non-life threatening injuries. The preliminary investigation indicates that approximately 10 minutes prior, the suspect and victim became engaged in a verbal dispute outside of a business. During the course of the incident, the suspect struck the victim with his vehicle before fleeing the area prior to police arrival. The suspect is described as a heavy set Black male with long dreadlocks, wearing glasses, a brown leather satchel, a green sweat suit and white sneakers. The suspect vehicle is described as a silver Chevrolet sedan. The investigation is ongoing.  

UNLAWFUL ENTRY, 2021-10030081, 1000 block of S. Frederick Street. At approximately 9:30 a.m. on October 3, police were dispatched to the late report of a breaking and entering. Upon arrival, it was determined that at approximately 1:20 a.m., the victim awoke to noise coming from within her apartment. The victim went to investigate and observed the unknown male suspect standing inside her residence. The suspect attempted to engage in conversation with the victim before she asked him to leave and contacted dispatch. Arriving officers canvased the area with negative results and the investigation determined that the suspect allegedly forced entry into the victim’s apartment before being confronted and leaving the area on foot. Later during the day, the suspect was located and taken into custody without incident. Silfredo Antonio Castillo Canales, 27, of Arlington, Va., was arrested and charged with Breaking and Entering. He was held on no bond.

RECOVERED STOLEN VEHICLE (Significant), 2021-10040168, 28th Street S. at S. Meade Street. At approximately 4:01 p.m. on October 5, patrol officers were alerted to a vehicle reported stolen from Prince Georges County, MD, and initiated an investigation. The suspect, who was working on another vehicle in front of the stolen vehicle, was detained and determined to have the keys for the stolen vehicle on his person. During an inventory search of the vehicle, a rifle, magazine and ammunition were recovered. Thomas Gibson, 26, of Washington D.C., was arrested and charged with Possession of Stolen Goods, Possession of a Firearm on School Grounds, Possession of a Firearm and Ammunition by a Convicted Felon and Removing/Altering the Serial Numbers of a Firearm.
