Driver Dies After New Year's Eve Crash In Fair Oaks: Police
Fairfax County Police said the driver later died after a crash into a tree on New Year's Eve.

FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA — A New Year's Eve crash killed an Aldie resident in the Fair Oaks area, according to Fairfax County Police.
The single-vehicle crash happened around 8:25 p.m. Wednesday at Post Forest Drive and Government Center Parkway. Police say a 2010 Toyota Prius driver was heading east on Post Forest Drive when the vehicle left the road and struck a tree.
The driver was taken to the hospital with injuries initially believed to be non-life-threatening. The injuries were changed to life threatening, and police were notified later that night that he was pronounced dead.

The driver was identified as Grant Faircloth, 24, of Aldie.
Crash Reconstruction Unit detectives are investigating the crash. Police preliminarily do not believe alcohol was involved but are investigating whether speed was a factor.
