The strategic plan development process, which began last summer, includes stakeholder engagement, data collection, and an evaluation of current housing programs. This effort builds upon the foundational understanding of Fairfax City’s housing market, ongoing development plans, and community priorities outlined in the Housing Assessment & Strategy Report (2023) and the Homelessness Task Force Report (2024). The community meeting held in January, which gathered experiences, concerns, and insights from those facing housing affordability challenges, is just one example of our engagement efforts.
Housing affordability is an increasing concern for many communities. Fairfax City is committed to developing data-driven solutions that meet local housing needs, improve quality of life, and ensure long-term sustainability. Your input is needed to create an Affordable Housing and Homelessness Strategic Plan that reflects the diverse perspectives of its community.
