Wegmans Shoppers In Fairfax Helped Raise $3.1M For Hunger Relief
Wegmans 114 stores nationwide raised nearly $3.1 million as part of its recent Check Out Hunger scanning campaign
FAIRFAX, VA — Wegmans customers raised nearly $3.1 million for hunger relief as part of the fall 2025 Check Out Hunger scanning campaign, according to a company release.
“This year, the Check Out Hunger campaign proved especially vital, arriving at a critical moment when our food bank partners faced a surge in demand caused by the government shutdown and suspension of SNAP benefits,” said Deana Percassi, Wegmans vice president of community engagement and communications. “We are deeply grateful to our customers and employees, who donated so generously for their neighbors in need during this campaign.”
From Oct. 22 to Nov. 29, customers at Wegmans' 114 stores, including the one at 11620 Monument Drive in Fairfax, were able to donate any amount at the checkout with 100 percent of the proceeds going to each store's local Feeding America food bank partner.
