Fairfax Man, 43, Killed In Motorcycle Crash On Ramp To I-66: VA Police

Virginia State Police are investigating a Sunday motorcycle crash that killed a Fairfax man on a ramp leading to the I-66 express lanes.

FAIRFAX, VA — A 43-year-old Fairfax man was killed in a motorcycle crash Sunday as he attempted to enter the Interstate 66 westbound express lanes in the Centreville area, according to Virginia State Police.

Around 12:36 p.m., Michael J. Monroe lost control of his motorcycle on the ramp from Route 28 south to the I-66 express lanes, according to the state police. Monroe was thrown from the motorcycle and over the jersey wall, eventually landing in a grassy area about 40 feet from the road.

Monroe was pronounced dead at the scene. VSP is investigating the incident.
