I'll Take My DMV To Go, Please
The Virginia DMV will be showing off its new 'DMV 2 Go' mobile office at locations in Fairfax City this coming week.

Most people would agree, having to go to the DMV and wait in long lines is a pain.
Wouldn't you much rather have the DMV come to you?
Well, this week, people who live or work in Fairfax City can have their wish.
The Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles will be parking its new "DMV 2 Go" mobile office outside University Hall on the George Mason University Campus, 4400 University Dr., on Monday and Tuesday, June 24 and 25, and outside Fairfax City Hall, 10455 Armstrong Dr., on Wednesday, June 26.
A special ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, and a celebration of the 10th anniversary of the "Select" services performed within Fairfax City Hall will take place at 10 a.m. on Wednesday. A number of legislators and local leaders are expected to attend both events.
So...what is DMV 2 Go?
DMV 2 Go is a fleet of five handicapped-accessible, full-service mobile RV offices that can perform all DMV transactions, including applying for and renewing driver's licenses and ID cards. Road and knowledge tests are available, and applicants may get their pictures taken and even complete vision screenings. Veterans can also apply for a Virginia veterans ID card.
"We know how busy life can be, and sometimes it is tough to find time to take care of your DMV business, so we are bringing our services at a time and place convenient for our customers," DMV Commissioner Richard D. Holcomb said in a statement.
Businesses, organizations and public entities can even apply to have a DMV 2 Go mobile service center visit their location for a day, if certain criteria are met, such as ample parking, being open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and being willing to make the visit open to the general public.
