Maine Chocolatier Kicks Off 25th Anniversary Year Of Fall For The Book

In a delicious start to Fall for the Book’s 25th Anniversary Year, the festival is partnering with the City of Fairfax to welcome Maine chocolatier and author Kate Shaffer to the Chocolate Lovers Festival. On Sunday, February 5 at 1 p.m. at the City of Fairfax Regional Library, Shaffer will give a talk and do a free demonstration. Participants will learn tips and tricks for living your best chocolate-filled life from her books Desserted: Recipes and Tales from an Island Chocolatier, and Chocolate for Beginners: Techniques and Recipes for Making Chocolate Candy, Confections, Cakes and More.

Shaffer is the founder of Ragged Coast Chocolates, an award-winning artisanal confectionery and baking company which uses directly traded and sustainably produced chocolate and locally sourced fruits, vegetables, herbs, grains, and flowers.
