Man Declared Dead Following Fight; Intersection Reopens: Police
An intersection near the Dunn Loring Metro Station was closed briefly on Monday morning for a death investigation, according to police.

FAIRFAX, VA — Prosperity Avenue and Merrilee Drive in Merrifield reopened after briefly being closed around 6 a.m. Monday morning for a death investigation, according a post on the Fairfax County Police Department's official X account.
Around 7 a.m., police reopened the intersection, which is located near the Dunn Loring Metro Station.
Earlier in the morning, officers responded to the scene to investigate the report of a fight. Upon arrival, they found an unconscious man, according to the post. The man was taken to the hospital for treatment but was later pronounced deceased.
