Man With Knife Threatens Employees At Fairfax City Restaurant: Police
City of Fairfax police arrested a 23-year-old man they say destroyed property and used a knife to threaten staff at a local restaurant.

FAIRFAX CITY, VA — A 23-year-old Fairfax man is facing an attempted malicious wounding charge for threatening employees at a Fairfax City with a knife midday Monday, according to authorities.
City of Fairfax Police responded to the Saba Yemeni Restaurant at 3900 Pickett Road around 12:20 p.m. to investigate reports that a man was threatening employees with a knife, according to the incident report.
A preliminary investigation revealed that a man began arguing with the manager and used a knife to threatened staff, before destroying restaurant property, according to police. The officers took the suspect into custody nearby and recovered the knife. No injuries were reported.

After being taken to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center, Hadi Abboud of Fairfax was charged with attempted malicious wounding and misdemeanor destruction of property. He was then held on a secured bond.
Abboud was arraigned Tuesday morning in Fairfax County General District Court and a preliminary hearing was scheduled for 2 p.m. on Feb. 23, 2026, according to court records.

The attempted malicious wounding charge is a Class 5 felony. If convicted on this charge, Abboud faces a potential sentence of one to five years in prison or 12 months in jail and a fine of up to $2,500, under the Code of Virginia.
