Man Pays with $100 Bill That Turns Out to Be Counterfeit: Police

Also in Tuesday's crime bulletin, a man attempts to open a credit account at a local store with fake ID, police say.

FAIRFAX CITY, VA -- A man paid for items Monday night at Shopper's Food Warehouse with a $100 bill that turned out to be counterfeit, Fairfax City Police reported Tuesday.

The incident took place Monday night at about 6:42 p.m. at the Shopper's Food Warehouse at 9622 Main St., police said. The suspect was observed leaving the area in a vehicle.

Vandalism 16-07272: 11151 Lee Highway / Havertys – On May 2 at 2:03 PM an employee reported that unknown person(s) had spray painted graffiti on two sides at the back of the building.

Credit Card Fraud 16-07280: 3900 Block of Railroad Avenue – On May 2 at 4:33 PM the resident reported that on March 16 unknown person(s) had used one of his credit cards to make an unauthorized purchase.
