Man Steals Perfume from Fairfax City Store: Police
Also in crime news this week, women steal baby formula, a man hides wine in backpack, graffiti is discovered underneath a bridge.

FAIRFAX CITY, VA -- They say that love is blind...was a man so in love that he stole a bottle of perfume from a local store? Read about it here in the latest crime bulletin from Fairfax City Police:
- Shoplifting 16-10698: 9570 Main Street / Ross Dress for Less – On June 21 at 2:02 PM an employee reported that she had determined that a male subject who she suspected of having stolen items previously had taken perfume from the store on June 16 without paying and had removed the security devices from the perfume in order to leave the store undetected.
Here's a look at more recent incidents as reported by Fairfax City Police:
- Larceny from Vehicle 16-10256: 11100 Block of Fairhaven Court – On June 14 at 6:27 PM the vehicle owner reported that sometime between 5:30 PM on June 13 and 7:30 AM on June 14 unknown person(s) had rummaged through the contents of her parked vehicle and taken a computer.
- DUI Arrest 16-10476: 10400 Block of Armstrong Street – On June 18 at 2:12 AM an officer who had conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle being operated at a high rate of speed determined that the driver was intoxicated. A 24-year old man from Fairfax Station, was transported to the Adult Detention Center where he was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol.
- DUI Arrest 16-10479: 9800 Block of Fairfax Boulevard – On June 18 at 3:24 AM an officer who had conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for speeding determined that the driver was intoxicated. A 20-year old from Vienna, was transported to the Adult Detention Center where he was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and refusal of blood/breath test and his bond was set at $2500.
- Vandalism 16-10543: 3260 Old Lee Highway – On June 19 at 12:02 AM an officer on patrol observed that unknown person(s) had spray painted graffiti underneath the bridge.
- Larceny 16-10571: 3242 Old Pickett Road / Bon Chon Chicken – On June 19 at 2:01 PM the victim reported that while paying for his food he had left his wallet on the counter and it had been stolen by unknown person(s). The wallet contained cash, identification and a credit card.
- Shoplifting Arrest 16-10572: 10530 Willard Way / Safeway – On June 19 at 2:34 PM a manager reported that he had observed a male subject place bottles of wine in his backpack and leave the store without paying for them. Officers located the suspect in the area and took him into custody. A 23-year old man of no fixed address, was transported to the Adult Detention Center where he was charged with petit larceny.
- Shoplifting 16-10622: 10350 Willard Way / Safeway – On June 20 at 12:37 PM a manager reported that two unknown female subjects had taken a quantity of baby formula from the store without paying.
- Fraud 16-10632: 10700 Block of Maple Street – On June 20 at 3:30 PM the resident reported that a male subject had responded to an advertisement of a room for rent and sent her deposit checks which she deposited in her bank account. Subsequently, the subject contacted her and stated he would not be renting the room and asked that his money be returned. The victim complied with that request and then learned that the checks the subject had sent her were fraudulent.
