Meet a DC United Soccer Star, Dance Scholarship Opportunities, a 5k for Breast Cancer, and More

The Fairfax County Dance Coalition (FCDC) and the Arts Council of Fairfax County have announced two scholarship opportunities for graduating seniors of the class of 2014 who attend any FCDC member studios. Two $1,000 scholarships to pursue dance studies will be awarded at the FCDC Gala on Saturday, Oct. 12. The scholarships can be used for tuition at a college, university, conservatory or summer dance intensive program for the 2014-15 school year. The deadline to apply is Sept. 13. Volunteer drivers are urgently needed for Fairfax County’s Meals On Wheels program, which delivers meals to underprivileged families throughout the county. The Fairfax Choral Society’s Adult Chorus will be holding auditions for its 2013-2014 season this Sunday, Aug. 18 at Fairfax Presbyterian Church, located at 10723 Main Street, Fairfax, VA 22003. Register now to take part in the Tigerlily Foundation’s second annual Pink Boa 5k Run/Walk, to benefit women through all stages of breast cancer – before, during and after.
