Suspect Arrested in Brazen Car Theft

Kevin Ging, 31, was located in Henrico County after nearly a week of investigating, according to Fairfax City Police.

HENRICO, VA — The suspect in a bold car theft in Fairfax City on May 31 is expected to return to face charges after he was apprehended on Monday, according to city police.

Kevin Ging, 31, of no fixed address, is charged with burglary. He was taken into custody in Henrico County.

According to police, Ging entered the garage of a home in the 3500 block of Cornell Road and took a set of keys that went to a car parked in the driveway. Ging allegedly then stole the car.

Larceny from Vehicle

10300 Block of Ford Road – On June 6 at 7:33 AM the vehicle owner reported that sometime after 6:00 PM on June 5 unknown person(s) had entered his vehicle which was parked on the driveway of the residence and taken numerous items of camping gear from the trunk.

10800 Block of 1st Street – On June 6 at 8:41 AM the vehicle owner reported that sometime after 8:30 PM on June 5 unknown person(s) had stolen her wallet from her unlocked parked vehicle. The wallet contained cash, identification and credit and debit cards, one of which subsequently had been used to make unauthorized purchases. The Patrol Division is investigating the case.
