Suspect Charged in Shoe Shoplifting Incident: Police

Police say man walked out of Fairfax City shoe store wearing new shoes he didn't pay for; he boarded a bus back to Falls Church, police say.

FAIRFAX CITY, VA -- A Falls Church area man shoplifted a pair of shoes Thursday morning that he wore out of a Fairfax City store, according to police.

Police say that the suspect switched his personal shoes for new ones and left the store, Famous Footwear at 9658 Main St., without paying. Police were called at 11:09 a.m., when the manager reported the incident.

Officers located the suspect, who had boarded a CUE bus in the area, according to police. After he was taken into custody, it was discovered that the man had concealed additional merchandise in his backpack, police said.

Raymond Frederick Goss, 50, of 3525 Moncure Avenue, Falls Church, was transported to the Adult Detention Center where he was charged with larceny—third or subsequent offense and his bond was set at $5,000, police said.
