UPDATE: Man Who Test Drove Car and Never Returned It Used Woman's Car for Collateral

Last week, Patch reported about a case in which a man and woman took a car for a test drive from the Auto Loox dealership at 10530 Fairfax Blvd. in Fairfax City and never returned it.

Fairfax City police collaborated with D.C. police, who located the car in D.C. not long after.

Well, the case has taken an interesting twist.

Fairfax City police recently reported that on Sept. 17 - eight days after taking the car and never returning it - the department received a call from the sister of the male suspect.

The sister reported that on the day of the test drive, Sept. 8, she had loaned her car to her brother - who had then put the car up as collateral in order to take the car for a test drive.

The dealership reportedly did eventually release her vehicle - but released it to the woman who had accompanied her brother on the test drive that never ended.

Now, an arrest warrant is not only pending for the man who never returned the test drive vehicle, but also for his female companion, who has not returned his sister's car. She is also charged with unauthorized use of a vehicle.

The following additional incidents were reported by the City of Fairfax Police Department. Where arrests are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Sept. 11 - Larceny: An employee of the 7-Eleven at 3965 Jermantown Road called to report that a payroll check that had been mailed to him by corporate headquarters had been intercepted and cashed by another.

Sept. 11 - Shoplifting: An employee of the 7-Eleven at 3950 Jermantown Road reported that at 9:13 p.m. an unknown male subject had grabbed two cartons of cigarettes from the counter and had run out of the store without paying for them.

Sept. 12 - Larceny: Staff of the Lamb Center at 3220 Lee Hwy. called to report that on Aug. 3, Aug. 10 and Sept. 6, cash was taken from a safe in one of the center's offices. The Patrol Division is investigating.

Sept. 13 - Larceny: Owners of six vehicles reported that, sometime between 7 p.m. the night before and the time of their call, that their parked vehicles were unlawfully entered and contents disturbed and items stolen. Items stolen included an iPod, a GPS, a E-Z pass, and merchant reward cards. Vehicles were parked on the 10100 block of Dwight Avenue, the 4100 block of Virginia Street, and the 4000 block of Walters Court.

Sept. 14 - Larceny: A resident of the Foxcroft Colony Condominiums reported that, sometime after 5 p.m. on Sept. 2, an unknown person or persons had cut the lock on her bicycle and stolen it from the building’s storage room.

Sept. 16 - Assault Arrest: A 32-year-old Front Royal man called to report that he had gotten into a verbal confrontation with his boss in the 4000 block of University Drive which escalated to a physical assault with the supervisor grabbing the victim by the neck and holding a knife to the victim’s face. As the result of investigation by the Patrol Division, felony warrants were obtained charging his supervisor, a 41-year-old Fairfax man, with attempted malicious wounding and abduction by force. He was transported to the Adult Detention Center, where he was ordered held without bond.

Sept. 18 - Computer Harassment: On Sept. 18 at 12:28 a.m. a female, who lives in Texas, reported that a male subject who lives in the City of Fairfax had made a threatening comment to her on Facebook. As the result of investigation by the Patrol Division, a warrant was obtained charging the suspect with use of a computer for harassment.
