VA House Cleaner Took Items From Homes She Cleaned, Police Say

City of Fairfax police arrested a Manassas woman they say pawned items she had stolen from homes that she was hired to clean.

FAIRFAX CITY, VA — City of Fairfax police are asking the public's help in identifying the owner of items that were taken by a 45-year-old Manassas woman while she was working as a house cleaner, according to authorities.

Police say that Peyna Suyapa Hernandez Valladares pawned the items that she had stolen from the homes she was hired to clean, according to the incident report. She was arrested on Nov. 7 and charged with one count of felony grand larceny, according to police. She was released on bail on Nov. 10.

Hernandez Valladares was arraigned on Nov. 14 in Fairfax County General District Court and a preliminary hearing was scheduled for Feb. 7, 2026, according to court documents. The date of the offense was listed as Jan. 9, 2023.
