Falls Church Teacher Charged With Sexual Assault of Two Students

A Falls Church teacher has been charged with felony aggravated sexual assault of two middle school students, Falls Church City Public Schools (FCCPS) officials said Friday.

Jose Estrada, 36, of Clifton, is a mathematics teacher at Mary Ellen Henderson Middle School.

FCCPS officials released a statement Friday, indicating they first learned of the allegations against Estrada on Jan. 17. They said Estrada was immediately placed on leave, and both police and Child Protective Services (CPS) officials were notified.

"This action enabled FCCPS to ensure the safety of its students while also reserving judgment on the employee," officials said in their statement. "As a result, at the time of the arrest, the employee was not at the school, nor in contact with students."

The identities of the two young female victims are being withheld to protect them.

"Falls Church City Public Schools has been fully cooperating with the Police and CPS, and will continue to do so as their investigations continue," the statement said.

School officials said student services staff was on hand at Mary Ellen Henderson Middle School Friday to counsel students as needed, and will be on hand Tuesday when school resumes after the three-day weekend as well.
