Native to Compete at the European Figure Skating Championships (fcnp.com) — Falls Church native and University of Michigan student Matthew Sperry is headed to the 2026 European Figure Skating Championships in England with his Finnish ice dance partner, Daniela Ivanitskiy. Sperry, who still visits Falls Church several times a year and shouts out Lazy Mike’s ice cream, hopes this international experience will help him reach the 2030 Winter Olympics and future university-level competitions. 
• The Next Frontier: Space Force Medicine focuses on people, policy in 2026 (spaceforce.mil) — Falls Church will host the inaugural Space Force Medicine Stakeholder Summit Feb. 24–26, bringing military medical and operational leaders together to shape how Guardians receive care. The broader initiative, led from Falls Church, focuses on new policies, training pathways, and recognition for medics working in space operations throughout 2026 and beyond.
