Here are the top three stories in Harrisonburg today:
- The Harrisonburg Department of Public Transportation will launch its first ridesharing service. The city is looking for public feedback through a survey available to the public until Apr. 21. Similar to the mainstream ridesharing services, this program will run through an app with the ability to track arrivals. (WHSV)
- A pair of James Madison University athletes broke school records over the weekend. At the Raleigh Relays, sophomore Holly Mpassy broke the school record with a time of 54.40 in the 400m dash. Freshman Asia Powell did the same with an 11.50 time in the 100m dash. (The Breeze)
- Students from the Rockingham County Future Farmers of America raised money on Monday to help fund future endeavors. The money raised at the Heritage Dinner will help students across the country compete at state and national conventions. The program aims to show its participants the ins and outs of agriculture to prepare them for their careers. (WHSV)

- Nearby Silver Lake Mill owner Cheryl Lyon reflected on the area's 200th anniversary. The Dayton property hosts multiple farms and faith communities. Lyon also published a book that documented the mill's history, which was released at the end of 2022. (CBS 6 News Richmond WTVR)
- Break out those tuxedos and dresses. Prom season is approaching, and local businesses are seeing a boom. Classic Tuxedos on Neff Ave said there's a growing interest in the event this year with attendance expected to increase. The owner's suggestion to those looking for the perfect wardrobe is that any suit or dress that is flattering will never be out of style. (WHSV)
