Assistance League Provides Weekend Food For Kids

Program Helps Students Avoid Hunger When School Is Not In Session

Along with partners from Dominion Energy and community volunteers from HITT Contracting, The Giving Circle of Heritage Hunt and Didlake, Inc, Assistance League of Northern Virginia packed 1840 bags of nonperishable food items as part of our "Weekend Food For Kids" program. Each month, ALNV packs food for school children to take home over the weekends. Local children in Title 1 elementary schools in Fairfax and Prince William County often suffer from food insecurity and our WFFK program helps to fill the void. All of the money to support our programs is raised through donations, grants and fundraisers. Please visit our website to find out more about our programs and to see how you can help. www.alnv.org
