Blue Suede Bop, Springfield Bridgewalk and Sponsored Youth Haircuts

Check out these 5 things you should know for Aug. 26.

Here are few things to keep in mind in and around the Kingstowne area for Aug. 26.

Once every summer the Mansion on O Street
flings open its doors to offer a sale of goods donated by its members, friends and neighbors for you to browse or buy.  You must bring your own bag to cart away any treasures you might find. The sale runs from today through Sept. 8 at the mansion, 2020 O St., NW in Washington, DC.  10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The 12th Annual Springfield Bridgewalk will take place at 7 p.m. Aug. 27 in Springfield. The Springfield community will get together to walk across Veteran's Bridge to American Legion Plaza for a community celebration.

Sponsored Youth Haircuts. Fairfax County firefighters will sponsor youth haircuts for county students who are on free or reduced lunch plans in anticipation for the upcoming school year. Haircuts will be provided in different locations in Fairfax County: Reston Community Center, Gums Springs Community Center and Charles Houston Recreation Center.

If you haven't already tried Voila Pastry & Cafe in Alexandria, you're missing out. Voila had a soft opening July 20 and had a great response from the community. It is located on North Kings Highway in the Huntington Station Shopping Center.

Enjoy the Blue Suede Bop performance at The Carlyle Club, 411 John Carlyle St. in Alexandria. The rockabilly band plays 9 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., right after a swing dance class. For more information, call 703-359-9882.
