Edison Class of 2015 to Host 2nd Annual Car Show, Carnival and Community Sale

The car show is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.

The Class of 2015 at Edison High School in the Kingstowne area is having its 2nd Annual Car Show and Carnival from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the high school.

According to Lisa MicKey, parent volunteer for the event, the owners with vintage and classic cars as well as modern vehicles. MicKey said a lot of the vintage cars are owned by Edison alumni who attend the event to show support for the students.

"They have a mini reunion right there in the parking lot," she said in a recent email.

A nice group of participants will be available during the community sale which is a yard sale, craft show and vendor trade show all rolled into one.

The carnival is geared toward the younger children and The planning committee for the event has invited multiple elementary schools in the area to come out and enjoy the fun.

Entertainment features for Saturday's event include a few Edison students as well as a group from Edison's orchestra.  A group of Scottish Highland dancers accompanied by the bagpipes, a Celtic Band will be performing as will an up and coming band from Loudon County called Just Another Scene.

The students have also arranged the traditional car wash fundraiser that will be running at the same time as the car show and carnival. Other groups that will be attending the event include the Lady Eagles Field Hockey team, the Edison JROTC, the school newspaper, "The Current", Edison's wrestling team, the Filipino American Student Association, the Tennis team, Edison's Choir and the Key Club.
