Hayfield Dramahawks present Disney's High School Musical
A great show full of singing and dancing, and fun for all ages!

As the summer break rolls on for students across the region, the Cappies’ Award winning Hayfield Dramahawks have been cooking up a new show during their musical theater summer camp. Disney’s High School Musical is the beloved story of Troy and Gabriella, how they came to love musical theater, and how they came to love each other.. The show itself is known heavily for its recognizable songs such as “We’re All In This Together,” and “Get’cha Head in the Game.” The actors and technicians have been putting in hard hours of work to put together the show in less than 3 weeks. Between learning the dances and songs, they’ve been putting tremendous energy and effort to pull it all into a showcase of talent and fun. When they’re not having fun onstage, the cast bonds together offstage by making new connections with students from all over the area who are part of the Dramahawks family for the summer. Despite the short amount of time, the students have put their all into bringing the show to life.
Taking place at East High in Albuquerque, New Mexico, the story follows new student Gabriella Montez and prodigy basketball player Troy Bolton, played by Aaron Guerrero and Sarah Rubalcava, as they fall for each other and learn to break the status quo by auditioning for the school musical. Siblings Sharpay and Ryan Evans, played by Lucy McBride and Ben Mutterperl, resident stars of the drama club, do all they can to prevent Troy and Gabriella from taking the parts they believe are theirs. Meanwhile, Troy’s best friend Chad Danforth, played by Sunya Supanklang, and Gabriella’s new best friend Taylor Mckessie, played by Cecilia Dorrity, find themselves at a loss when it comes to Troy and Gabriella seemingly abandoning their teams for something as far-fetched as a musical— and each other. From jocks to brainiacs, skaters to thespians, everyone can enjoy this classic Disney love story, along with all its great music and dancing. High School Musical will be performed at the Hayfield Secondary Auditorium on July 25-27 at 7 pm and July 27 at 2 pm.
