I-395 South Lane Closures Planned For Night-Time Bridge Work: VDOT

The southbound I-395 general purpose lanes will have lane closures at Edsall Road on Monday and Tuesday nights for bridge painting work.

SPRINGFIELD — The southbound Interstate 395 general purpose lanes will have lane closures at Edsall Road on Monday night and Tuesday night for bridge painting work, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.

Each night, the left two lanes of southbound I-395 at Edsall Road will be closed at 10 p.m., followed by the left three lanes at 11 p.m. Total stoppages lasting up to 20 minutes each are scheduled to occur between midnight and 4 a.m., according to VDOT.

All lanes will reopen by 5 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 30 and Wednesday, Aug. 31. All Edsall Road interchange (Exit 2) ramps will remain open during the bridge painting work, VDOT said.

The bridge painting work will take place as long as there is no bad weather, the department said.
