July 31: Max Impact Performance, Sashimi and Biking

It's the last day of July and it's hump day. Patch is here to help you keep the momentum going as summer quickly comes to an end. The weather in NoVa hasn't been terrible so get out and enjoy some of these activities today in the Kingstowne area.

Lee District Nights Concert Series. Relax and enjoy some music at Lee District Park. The U.S. Air Force Max Impact will perform rock music as part of the park's 2013 summer concert series. Concerts are free and start at 7:30 p.m.

Back to School Drive. There's still time! It's the final day to donate school materials to UCM. Find out how you could help local low-income students in the Alexandria area. 

Bike the Wilson Bridge Trail. The 3.5-mile, 12-foot wide trail can take you straight from Old Town Alexandria by Jones Point Park to National Harbor. It extends from Oxon Hill Road across the Potomac River to the Huntington Metro Station in Virginia. The trail has a rating of “easy,” according to Prince George’s County Department of Parks and Recreation, except for a difficult half-mile, uphill section to Oxon Hill Road from the bridge where the trail gains 200 feet in elevation. 

Young Professionals Night (35 and under) at the Synetic Theatre, A $25 ticket to see A Midsummer Night's Dream includes a 6 p.m. happy hour at Jaleo Crystal City and the 8 p.m.performance. The theater is located at 1800 S. Bell St. in Arlington. The show runs throughAug. 4.

All you can eat sashimi at Izakaya Seki on U Street in Washington, DC. To celebrate the restaurant’s one-year anniversary, Chef Hiroshi Seki will cut a 100-pound yellowfin tuna down to size beginning at 5 p.m. and then customers can enjoy all-you-can-eat tuna sashimi for $15.
