Police Apprehend Suspect Who Entered Resident's Basement Sunday

Police responded to a report of an unknown man leaving a Springfield area resident's basement early Sunday morning.

FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA -- Fairfax County Police said they apprehended a man who had unlawfully entered a Springfield area home.

The incident took place early Sunday morning at about 6:45 a.m. in the 7300 block of Backlick Road, police said.

A resident reported that they observed a male leaving out of their basement door. Officers located the suspect and arrested him.

Julio C Bacajol Canel, 22, Annandale, was charged with destruction of property and unlawful entry.
