Telegraph Road Permanent Striping Coming After Resident Concerns
After a portion of Telegraph Road was repaved, some residents raised safety concerns about the delay in restriping.
GROVETON, VA — After part of Telegraph Road in Fairfax County was repaved, concerns have been raised about safety without permanent striping.
Fox5DC first reported the concerns about Telegraph Road between the Beltway and South Kings Highway. The road had been repaved, but permanent lane striping still hasn't happened weeks later. Residents expressed worries about the road not having easily visible lane striping, especially at night.
The Virginia Department of Transportation's contractor for the work had attributed the delay to rainy weather, labor shortages and the supply chain issues. A VDOT spokesperson told Patch in an email the temporary markers were "refreshed" on Tuesday and look like Post-it Notes. Permanent lane striping could happen this upcoming Monday.
