Tractor-Trailer Fire On 1-95N Under Control; Clean Up To Take 2-Plus Hours
Fairfax County Fire & Rescue personnel brought the I-95N truck fire under control, but the road is expected to be closed for several hours.

SPRINGFIELD, VA — The tractor-trailer fire that shut down all northbound lanes of I-95 just before the Springfield Mixing Bowl around 11 a.m. was under control, according to an 11:45 a.m. Twitter post by the Fairfax County Fire & Rescue Department.
Firefighters continued to hit hotspots at the scene, which also included a fuel leak. Rescue personnel are evaluating one person.

Northbound lanes of I-95 remained closed and FCFRD estimated that it would take more than two hours to clean up the scene. The public is advised to avoid the area.
Traffic appeared to be bypassing the truck via the left shoulder and in the High Occupancy Toll (HOT) lanes, according to a Virginia Department of Transportation traffic camera.
