Two Shoplifting Suspects Lead Officers on Foot Chase at Springfield Town Center: Police
Washington, D.C. residents are facing shoplifting charges, police say.
FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA --Two suspects shoplifting items from the Victoria's Secret store at Springfield Town Center led police on a foot chase Tuesday afternoon, according to Fairfax County Police.
The incident took place at about 5:31 p.m. at the mall, where an officer assigned to patrol the shopping center noticed two people in the store pick up clothes and attempt to leave without paying, police said. As he approached them, they fled on foot, according to police. Additional officers responded and the suspects were apprehended a short distance away. The clothes from Victoria’s Secret were recovered, along with merchandise apparently stolen from several other stores in the mall, according to police.
Reginald Simmons, 18 and Ikea Davis, 21, both of Washington, D.C. were charged with grand larceny and four counts of petit larceny. Simmons was also charged with resisting arrest.
