Victim Shot During Attempted Robbery in Kingstowne: Police
Police say a man was shot in the arm early Tuesday morning when he refused to hand over property to the suspect.

FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA -- Fairfax County Police say a person was shot early Tuesday in the Kingstowne area during an attempted robbery.
Police responded to a call at about 2:09 a.m. to Collins Meade Way and Braeleigh Lane (see map below), they said. The area is a neighborhood off of Kingstowne Village Parkway near the intersection of Kingstowne Village Parkway and Hayfield Road.

According to police, the victim reported that a man approached him and demanded property. When the victim refused, the suspect shot him in the arm, police said. Police say the victim's injuries are not life-threatening.
When the suspect fled, the victim followed and the suspect started shooting again but none of the shots hit the victim, police said.

The suspect was described as black, with a tall, thin build, and short dreadlocks, according to police. This investigation is ongoing.
