Woman Charged for False Report of Assault in Franconia: Police Say Wounds Were Self-Inflicted
Fairfax County Police say Cory Wright told them a Hispanic man assaulted her while she was walking a dog Sept. 6 in the Franconia area.

FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA -- Police say a woman was charged Thursday morning with giving a false report to law enforcement officials for telling them earlier this month she was assaulted by an unknown man on Founders Hill in the Franconia area.
Police have charged Cory Wright, 45, of the Alexandria area for giving a false report to law enforcement; they say she contacted police Sept. 6 saying she was assaulted that afternoon by a Hispanic man with dark hair and a beard while she was walking a dog in the 5900 block of Founders Hill (see map below). She told police she was able to get away and the man fled the area, police said.
Wright went to the hospital to be treated for non-life threatening wounds, but police say further investigation determined the wounds were self-inflicted.
