Arson Suspected at Auto Repair Businesss: Fire

4 cars and 2 dumpters were on fire when first responders arrived, according to Prince William County Fire & Rescue.

GAINESVILLE, VA. — A fire at an auto repair business in Gainesville may have been set intentionally, according to Prince William County fire officials.

Crews responded at 4:45 a.m. Wednesday to Caliber Collision in the 7000 block of Progress Court, according to Fire & Rescue spokesperson Kim Hylander.

"Upon arrival, firefighters observed 4 vehicles, 2 dumpsters and an area of brush on fire while they detected a possible odor of a flammable liquid," Hylander said in a statement. "Firefighters were quickly able to extinguish the fire."

There were no injuries reported. Property damage is estimated at $100,000.

A preliminary investigation determined that multiple vehicles had damage to their fuel tanks, Hylander said.
