Break-In Reported at Baldwin Elementary in Manassas

A school employee caught sight of two people fleeing the scene just after the burglar alarm sounded.

Two people forced their way into Baldwin Elementary School on Thursday evening, just days before the school will open for the new year.

It happened around 9 p.m. in one of the mobile unit classrooms behind the main school building on Main Street, Manassas Police said.

A school employee who responded to the alarm sounding saw the suspects running away from the trailer toward Main Street. Police later found  they had ransacked the trailer, but it's not clear if anything was stolen.
