Car Fire Spreads To Home In Rural Area Of Prince William County
A fire spreading from a car to a home caused significant damage and required a rural water supply for firefighters.
MANASSAS, VA — Two people were displaced after a car fire spread to a home in a rural area of Prince William County Sunday, causing significant damage.
Prince William County Fire and Rescue responded around 10:18 a.m. Sunday to the 11800 block of Molair Road in the Manassas area of the county. Units arrived to find a car on fire that was quickly spreading into a single-family home, as well as brush and other combustibles. Firefighters had to use rural water supply operations due to the home's location but quickly brought the fire under control.
There were no reported injuries from the fire. The home had significant damage and was declared unsafe to occupy. Two adults were displaced and are being assisted by the American Red Cross.

The fire marshal has not released the cause of the fire. Witnesses told the fire department that combustible vegetation under the recently-driven vehicle may have started the fire.
