Child Abduction In Manassas Leads To Arrest, Taser Used On Suspect: Police
Police were in the process of seeking an Amber Alert when a man took a relative's car with a 6-year-old boy inside.
MANASSAS, VA — A search for an abducted 6-year-old in Manassas led to an arrest Wednesday, according to City of Manassas Police.
Around 3:50 p.m. Wednesday, Manassas Police responded to a child abduction report at the Exxon gas station at 9901 Wellington Road. The victim said his brother-in-law got in the passenger seat of his vehicle before driving off. The vehicle had the victim's 6-year-old son inside.
Police were in the process of seeking an Amber Alert with Virginia State Police and notified other localities of the abduction. However, Manassas Police and other law enforcement found the vehicle minutes later at an intersection in Manassas Park and conducted a traffic stop.

According to police, the suspect did not initially cooperate, leading police to use a Taser to arrest the suspect. The child was not in the vehicle, but a Prince William County officer found the child at a nearby home. The child was reunited with his parent, and police did not indicate that the child had any injuries.
Devon Lamont Pinckney, 38, of Manassas Park, was charged with abduction, grand larceny of a vehicle and possession of a firearm by a felon. He is being held without bond at the Prince William County Adult Detention Center.
