MANASSAS, VA—Two commercial fires were quickly extinguished early Sunday, including one that briefly forced the evacuation of the Wyndham Garden Hotel at 10800 Vandor Lane, according to area fire and rescue officials. The other was an oven fire in the Krispy Kreme in the 9800 block of Liberia Avenue.
In the hotel fire, Prince William Fire and Rescue responded to the scene shortly before 1 a.m. for a reported fire in the laundry room. They found that the fire had largely been extinguished by the building's sprinkler system but nonetheless was responsible for smoke spreading through the building.
Firefighters made sure the fire was out and then facilitated smoke removal. Three occupants of the hotel were evaluated but required no medical treatment. Damage was limited to a dryer that caused the fire, according to the Fire Marshal's Office.
