'Diary Of A Wimpy Kid' Author To Make Book Tour Stop In Manassas

Bestselling author Jeff Kinney will make a Northern Virginia stop to promote his 20th "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" book.

MANASSAS, VA — Jeff Kinney, a bestselling author known for his "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" series, will be making a stop in Manassas.

Kinney will be at Osbourn High School at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 21. The stop is part of his The Partypooper Tour to promote his new book, "Diary of a Wimpy Kid #20: Partypooper." Manassas is the only Virginia stop aside from Richmond. The event will be hosted by Barnes & Noble Fairfax. Doors will open at 6 p.m.

To celebrate the 20th "Diary of a Wimpy Kid book, Kinney's The Partypooper Show will be an interactive game show-style event. Audience members will have the chance to join Kinney onstage to "save the party." Kinney's tour will travel around the eastern U.S. in a custom-wrapped van called the "Wimpy Wagon."

The first book was published in 2007 and quickly became a bestseller. The "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" series has sold more than 300 million copies globally. The series has been published in 87 editions and 69 languages. The series has remained on the New York Times bestseller list for 18 years and has led to a three-book spinoff Awesome Friendly Kid series.

Tickets to the Manassas event are $22.99 for individual attendees and $28.25 for adult and child groups. Book bundle options are also available.
