GAINESVILLE, VA—A drunk man with two children in his vehicle was arrested Tuesday shortly after driving across a lawn in the 8100 block of Arrowleaf Turn, according to Prince William County Police. Anthony Paul McCormick, 39, of the 3300 block of Boathouse Road in Warrenton, was charged with two counts of felony child neglect, one count of driving while intoxicated and one count of destruction of property.

Shortly after 6 p.m., police went to the 7900 block of Stonewall Shops Square for a possible impaired driver. Someone reported seeing an apparently intoxicated man leave a business and drive away in a Honda Odyssey with two boys inside. Shortly thereafter, police received a call about the lawn incident.

Ultimately, police spotted the vehicle in the area of Lee Highway and Crescent Park Drive and immediately stopped it. They found that the driver was, in fact, drunk, and arrested him without incident. Two boys, 10 and 8, were released to the custody of a family member. No injuries were reported.
