Fairfax Man Charged In Prince William County Crash Killing Motorcyclist

Prince William County Police have charged a Fairfax driver in a crash in which two other vehicles collided, killing a motorcyclist.

NOKESVILLE, VA — A Fairfax driver has been charged in a crash killing a motorcyclist and injuring two others in Nokesville Monday, according to Prince William County Police.

Around 5:15 p.m. Monday, officers responded to Aden Road and Parkgate Drive in Nokesville for a crash with a motorcycle. A police investigation found a 2012 Mazda 5 driver was making a left turn from southbound Parkgate Dr onto eastbound Aden Rd. and turned into the path of a 2015 Honda CRF250L motorcycle. The motorcycle was heading east on Aden Road, but the turning vehicle caused the motorcyclist to cross the center line of the road and hit a 2020 Jeep Wrangler heading in the opposite direction. Both vehicles left the road due to the crash impact.

The motorcycle driver was taken to the hospital and died of his injuries. He was identified as Austin Matthew Dungan, 28, of Bealeton.

A 43-year-old woman driving the Jeep and a 15-year-old girl passenger from Nokesville were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The Mazda driver and passenger were not injured and remained at the scene.

An investigation led to the Mazda driver, Luke Alexander Altman, 18, of Fairfax, being charged with reckless driving – fail to yield the right of way. Police did not say if additional charges were being sought in the fatal crash. He was released on a court summons.
