Fatal House Fire Under Investigation in Gainesville
Fire Marshal is working with Prince William County homicide detectives, according to Prince William County Police.

GAINESVILLE, VA — Fire investigators are working with homicide detectives after a Friday afternoon fire killed a Gainesville man and destroyed a large home in the Cartharpin area.
The victim was identified Monday as Eduardo Tremols, 52, of Gainesville. A fundraiser in support of the Tremols family has raised more than $53,000.
At 3:42 p.m. Friday, fire crews responded to a call regarding a car crashing into a garage in the 13200 block of Catharpin Valley Drive.

Firefighters found the car, a 2007 Hyundai Veracruz inside the garage and the home fully engulfed in flames.
Tremols was pronounced dead at the scene. A dog was also found dead in the home.

Other occupants of the home were able to evacuate the residence without injury, according to police.
Tremols' remains were transported to the Medical Examiner's Office for further analysis.
The fire is being jointly investigated by the Prince William County Police Homicide Unit, Crash Unit, and the Department of Fire and Rescue’s Fire Marshals’ Office.
