1. Time is winding down to get tickets to the Jonas Brothers at Jiffy Lube Live Amphitheater in western Prince William County. Gainesville native Jordan Baird is opening for the pop group. 

2. You Said It: ”This is one of those life moments where I remember where I was when he was shot” — Reader “Wayne” commenting on the wreath-laying ceremony for the only City of Manassas police officer killed in the line of duty. Sgt. John D. Conner III was killed in the line of duty July 24, 1988.

3. ICYMI: Who doesn't like a little Guns and Hoses? No it's not a typo, but it is  a match up involving the Prince William County Police and Yorkshire and Nokesville Volunteer Fire and Rescue workers.  The emergency officials will get the chance to square off in the second annual Guns vs. Hoses Charity Softball Game in Pfitzner Stadium on Aug. 11.
