Gunfire Hits Manassas Area Home After Woman Receives Text Threats: Police
Prince William County Police say a man who sent threatening texts to a woman fired gunshots at her home.

MANASSAS, VA — Prince William County Police made an arrest Thursday in the case of gunfire at the home of a woman the suspect threatened.
Around 11:22 p.m. on Sept. 20, police responded to a gunshots report at a home in the 10000 block of Brandon Way in the Sudley neighborhood. Police say several gunshots fired struck the home. Officers located multiple shell casings. There were not reported injuries or additional property damage.
Police determined the incident was not random and identified the suspect as Matthew Jamaal Brown, 35, of no fixed address, on Tuesday. An investigation determined residents at the home knew Brown. A 32-year-old female acquaintance who lived at the home received multiple texts with threats of harm from the suspect.

Police were initially unable to locate Brown until he turned himself in Thursday in the City of Manassas. Brown was charged with one count of attempted malicious wounding, one count of use of a firearm in commission of a felony, one count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, one count of shooting into an occupied dwelling, one count of communicate threats to kill in writing, and two counts of making threats over airways. He was held without bond at the Prince William County jail.
