Driver Injured In Yorkshire Hit-And-Run Crash, Suspect Used Stolen Car: Police

Prince William County Police are seeking a hit-and-run driver in a multi-vehicle crash that sent one driver to the hospital.

MANASSAS, VA — Prince William County Police are seeking a driver in a hit-and-run crash that injured another driver Tuesday morning in the Yorkshire area.

Officers responded to a hit-and-run crash around 7:24 a.m. at Yorkshire Lane and Old Centreville Road. Police said the suspect vehicle side-swiped another vehicle before striking another vehicle head on. A 48-year-old woman driving the struck vehicle was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver fled on foot before police arrived. During the investigation, officers determined the suspect was driving a stolen vehicle. The search led to a large police presence and alerts to nearby schools as a precaution.

The suspect was identified as Jaquan Malik Fitchett, 27, of no fixed address. Police obtained arrest warrants to charge him with felony hit and run, one count of grand larceny, one count of petit larceny, and one count of driving on a revoked license. Police say he is also wanted on unrelated charges.

Fitchett is described as a Black man around 5 foot 11 and 155 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.
