Illegal Gambling Machines Found Hidden Behind Fake Wall At NoVA Business
Police found a false wall that opened up to a vacant adjoining business and later seized 30 gambling machines.
MANASSAS, VA — Three people have been charged in an illegal gambling operation run out of a Manassas business, according to Prince William County Police.
The gambling operation was connected to The Washing Company, a laundromat at 7393 Miramar Drive in the Bull Run neighborhood. While investigating an unrelated incident on May 11, officers noticed a false wall open up to an adjoining vacant business. The vacant business had slot machines and other gambling machines.
According to police, the laundromat had screens at the front desk showing camera footage of the gambling room.

Detectives obtained search warrants for the laundromat and found 30 gambling machines, an undisclosed amount of money and other evidence. Police identified three suspects involved with the gambling operation and obtained arrest warrants.
From May 16 to 19, police arrested Nasir Jafri, 50, of Chantilly, Joel Enrique Rivera-Rivera, 46, of Bristow, and Giovanni Alfredo Recalde, 38, of Reston, and charged each with conducting an illegal gambling operation.
