Inclement Weather Changes Schedule For PWCS On Tuesday, Jan. 16

Inclement weather is causing school officials in Prince William County to change the schedule for Tuesday, Jan. 16.

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, VA — Prince William County Schools will be closed on a Code Red on Tuesday, Jan. 16. There will be no classes or activities on school campuses. There will not be virtual classes.

Manassas City schools will also be closed on Tuesday for a Code Blue. All activities are cancelled.

A storm brought snow to the region throughout the day on Monday.

Here is the upcoming forecast for the region, according to the National Weather Service:

  • Tuesday: A chance of rain, snow, and freezing rain before noon, then a chance of snow between noon and 1pm. Patchy fog before 9am. Otherwise, cloudy, with a high near 36. Light north wind becoming northwest 13 to 18 mph in the morning. Winds could gust as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
  • Tuesday night: Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming clear, with a low around 14. Northwest wind 8 to 14 mph, with gusts as high as 23 mph.
  • Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 32. West wind 6 to 10 mph.
  • Wednesday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 21. Southwest wind 6 to 9 mph.
  • Thursday: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 40.
  • Thursday night: A chance of snow after 1am. Cloudy, with a low around 28. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
  • Friday: A chance of snow before 1pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 36. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
