Man Strangles Woman In Manassas: Police

MANASSAS, VA—A man was arrested Dec. 18 after strangling a woman in the 10900 block of Coverstone Drive, according to Prince William County Police. Mohammad Akbar Farhad, 33, of the aforementioned area, was charged with strangulation, abduction, domestic assault and battery and obstruction of justice.

Shortly before 11 a.m., police went to the scene for reported domestic assault. They found that Farhad and the woman, 23, were in an argument that escalated. When the woman tried to leave, Farhad grabbed her by the neck and assaulted her. She finally was able to break free, flee and contact police. Minor injuries were reported.
