Manassas Area Schools Nominated For Cappies, Tony's Of High School Theater In DC Region
The Cappies, the DC region's Tony's of high school theater, announced schools receiving award nominations.

MANASSAS, VA — High school theater productions that left an impression on audiences and student critics have earned nominations for awards. Nominations were announced for the Cappies of the National Capital Area, a Tony Award-like program for local high school theater.
Osbourn Park High School's Katherine Misero earned a nomination in the Props category for "The SpongeBob Musical."
Colgan High School had eight nominations. It is up for one of the top awards — the Musical category — for its production of "Rent School Edition."

In addition, "Seasons of Love" is up for best Song, Isabella McDonald is up for Lead Actor in a Female Role in a Musical and Josh Starzyk is up for Lead Actor in a Male Role in a Musical. Other nominations include Danielle Serrano-Bremer for Supporting Actor in a Female Role in a Musical, Taylor Reiter for Vocalist in a Male Role, Jessie Brooks for Featured Actor in a Female Role in a Musical, and Homeless for Ensemble in a Musical.
The Cappies recognize the accomplishments of high school theater as well as student critics who write reviews of high school theater productions. Winners of the Cappies awards will be announced at the Cappies Gala on Monday, June 10 at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in DC.
